Professor Veronique Lafon-Vinais

Euphemia is currently Head of the Office of Global Learning at HKUST. Previous to her current role, she oversaw the recruitment and admission of non-local undergraduate students at HKUST. Euphemia obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
Yong Yong Lee
Yong Yong Lee is a Malaysian who has been working in Hong Kong since 2012. Prior to Hong Kong, she has lived/worked in 7 cities, and travelled for business trips to 25 cities in Asia, Africa, Europe and America continents. She has had opportunities to work with people from 35 countries in the past.
Yong Yong is also an experienced auditor who has extensive audit experiences in reviewing various business processes in multiple industries. In her early career life, she pursued the traditional path of an accounting graduate by joining a big four accounting firm as an external auditor. Eventually, she moved on to internal auditing and strategic planning roles with a French building materials company and a US footwear company. She joined HKUST as Director of Internal Audit in early 2018.
Prof Rhea Liem
Prof Liem obtained her Bachelor of Engineering degree from the School of Mechanical and Produc_on Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. Her undergraduate study was supported by the Association of Southeast Asian Na_ons (ASEAN) with a 4-year merit-based full scholarship. She earned Master of Science (SM) degrees in Computer on for Design and Optimization (supported by the Singapore-MIT Alliance Fellowship Award), and Aeronau_cs/Astronau_cs, from the Massachuse_s Institute of Technology (MIT). She then pursued her PhD degree in the Mul_disciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) Laboratory, University of Toronto Ins_tute for Aerospace Studies(UTIAS), as a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar. She is also a 2012 Amelia Earhart Fellow.
Professor Véronique A. Lafon-Vinais
Ms. Veronique Lafon-Vinais is a seasoned financial market professional with over 20 years of banking and capital markets experience. She has worked in all the major financial markets and has extensive experience in all the major debt markets.
Veronique joined Credit Agricole in Paris in 1980 after graduating from HEC; she moved to First Chicago (now part of JP Morgan) in London in 1984 then to Chicago in 1990. In 1991 Veronique joined Union Investissements, the M&A and corporate finance subsidiary of Credit Agricole in Paris to work on various M&A and corporate finance advisory projects. Veronique moved to Hong Kong in 1994 joining First Chicago as Managing Director, Head of Financial Markets, Asia Pacific. She joined Standard Chartered Bank plc as Head of Treasury Origination in 2000 and retired from banking in 2001.
She is now dedicating herself full time to education and teaching as Associate Professor of Business Education, Department of Finance, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where she teaches in the MBA/MSc programs as well as in the Undergraduate Programs, and professional training and consulting for the finance industry. She is the Executive Director, Career Development & Corporate Outreach for the School of Business and Management at HKUST, Associate Director for the UG programs, Associate Director of the tri-degree World Bachelor in Business Program, and Project Director for the HKUST-NYU Stern MSc in Global Finance.
Veronique is married with two children. She is a French national and a Hong Kong Permanent Resident.
